Mandy Majerik, AIFD
Founder: A lovely lady with a firm handshake.

As a third generation florist, Mandy Majerik tells the story of the past, present and promise for the future of the floral industry. At the age of 27, this Birmingham native has achieved many goals and experienced aspects of the floral industry seen across the world.

Mandy is a Magna cum Laude graduate of the University of Montevallo with a degree in interior design. With her formal education and hands-on design experience, Mandy has proven to be a promising lead in the floral industry. Mandy is the youngest individual to be awarded the Alabama State Florist Association’s prestigious “Designer of the Year” (2005), as well as being the second person in the Association’s history to receive the “Knud Nielsen Alabama Cup” in the same year. Mandy was inducted into the American Institute of Floral Design (AIFD) in July 2007.

Along with her devotion to the floral industry, Mandy shares her time with many other civic and professional organizations. Mandy is an Allied member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), Women’s Exchange and the International Special Events Society.

When Mandy is not spending her time with flowers, she is fueling her passion for the arts. Mandy has been a participant in the Birmingham Artwalk for over three years. Her mixed media and jewelry designs can be seen at both public and private venues across the Southeast. Mandy’s jewelry designs and art projects are on display at Hothouse.

Mandy tries to transform the traditional craft of flower arranging into a modern art form: her floral designs can be appreciated for their use of color, style and originality. Mandy likes to share her world of creativity - incorporating the unexpected and the unusual. Her designs and words of wisdom have been captured in several periodicals and publications such as Skirt, Florists’ Review, Lipstick and Flower Magazine.
